We had the free walkingtour with Marteinn. I would 1000% recommend booking this. You learn a lot about Reykjavik in 2 hours, but it was also very fun. Marteinn is very funny and he explains everything really well.
Sara was fantastic! Very energetic and entertaining tour guide who’s a school teacher from Reykjavik and has been doing the tours for 11 years.

This walking tour was excellent! Due to numbers, the initial tour I booked was cancelled however the guide sent a helpful message the day before so I could rebook for the other tour that day. The tour gives a good snippet of the city, is very easy walking wise and plenty of warm stops given it was -15 windchill! Martin the guide was hilarious and also had good facts about the city. The tour takes cash at the end or you can pay online if want to stay cash free. Would highly recommend the tour if visiting Reykjavik!

Be prepared to enduldge in some of Reykjavik's finest foods, our Guide took us across the city stopping at hidden gems of restaurants and street food outlets, interspersed with humour and history you might even get to meet the prime minister.

We had the awesome and fearsome ‘Viking’ Sarah. We had been in Reykjavik for a day and thought we knew it all. However, Sarah told us not only about the sights and history of Iceland and Reykjavik, but also of the culture, the cultural mentality and of the soul of this wonderful nation.
2.2.25: Erik was a great tour Guide with a good icelandic sense of humour. He made us really enjoy the City walk and made it interesting for the whole group. He even told us some stories from his private to make it really authentic, how about that. Thanks to Erik, who made our day🥳
I was at a City Walk on the 2nd of January with Erik, it was a Great Walk, he answered all of our questions really nicely and with a lot of humour, wich made the Walk really wholesome. Would really recommend it for every Tourist visiting Reykjavik, thank again to Erik for the Nice time

Fantastic tour! Highly recommend to do on your first day in Iceland. We learnt so much and gained an appreciation for this wonderful country and some recommendations on what to do here. We had Mo and he was personable, friendly and funny. He let us ask multiple questions and provided thoughtful, in depth answers. We have done many city walking tours around the world and this is one of the best.

David was an excellent guide! He was very knowledgable and did a great job explaining each site and answering questions! Booking is necessary and I highly recommend doing this tour, especially the first day! It takes you through a lot of the city and provides information on attractions and the town’s history!

Great and fun way to see the older parts of iceland and learn more about its history and common places to check out in Reykjavik. The tour guides are very fun and knowledgable.

This was a great way to see the area and learn more about the history and culture. Our guide Mo was actually very funny in addition to giving us tons of information. I appreciated the recommendations as far as where to go and what to avoid to save some money, especially in a city as expensive as Reykjavik. It was also great that it was a set your own rate. We paid with credit card at the end of the tour, which is great for those who prefer not to use cash. A must do experience!
Marteinn was a great guide and made the walking tour a lot of fun. He also answered lots of questions from the group and educated us.

We had an amazing experience with City Walk on the free (pay what you can/want) Reykjavik tour! Our guide, Martin, was absolutely fantastic—engaging, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He kept our whole group of international guests entertained while giving us a fascinating historic overview of the city that made us appreciate Reykjavik and Iceland so much more. No question went unanswered, and his humor kept us laughing the entire time.
On top of that, they provided a list of local recommendations that was better than anything we found online—it really enhanced the rest of our trip. I can’t recommend this tour enough; it’s the perfect way to get to know the city!
